Hi Dave,

Just paged down to the comments and notice this one about the nibbles on the carrots and lettuce. Sounds like bunnies to me! How are you doing on that fence? When I envision getting the fencing untangled from grass and brush etc. it sounds like major effort! Hope you have some fun tomorrow (Saturday at the markets!)

I don't think there is room for potatoes between the peas. I have rows of carrots and lettuce in there. I'll get around to making space for potatoes later.

Meanwhile, something already munched on a few of the peas, and I suspect it might have also taken out half a row of carrots and lettuce seedlings. Since it is small nibbles, it must just be insects though. I will get or make some soap spray to deter them and replace with leaf lettuce. But I plan to get to that fence by this weekend. :)

Amazing! YOu know, you could put hills of potatoes between the pea rows--the peas will be torn out really before you know it. I kept an acre garden when the older kids were little! and canned (or froze) at least 50 jars of tomatoes and at least one serving of each kind of veg and fruits ! (buying peaches or picking cherries) for every week.

Some people also dry veg and fruit--there are solar dryers too I believe. It is satisfying work, isn't it? But if you have deer you'd better get fencing up before too long! farmer fleming!
